Smooth Parametric Landscape Social Hub

Before the Museum of Tomorrow’s construction, local poor kids used to jump on the bay. Therefore, we were aiming to design an intervention inspired by movement that could enhance the dialog between the water and the city of Rio de Janeiro.

The first attempts tried to achieve a more literal wave shaped pod. Later, the design’s focused to two different approaches:

  • a small pier alluding water splashing back to the pavement enabling the user to access pods.
  • a family of pods reconnecting the user with the water and the environment.
